Who are we?

Internet Governance Forum Youth Malaysia was established in 2019 with the main idea of building youth engagement on internet governance and ensuring the voices of youth is heard.

How do we work?

The Y-IGF committee is comprised of young individuals from a bundle of colourful backgrounds, such as human rights advocacy, technical consultancy, legal advocacy, and student background.

The main purpose of the steering committee is to gather individuals who are keen to see how the internet will look like for Malaysia in the next decade. Generation Z is the first generation born globally that has been exposed to the internet since birth or childhood. The way the internet as we know will continue to develop will never be the same as the way our predeceasing generations see it. As such, as a bunch of individuals with only one thing in common: Engaging generation Z to be involved in the way our internet is shaped, the steering committee came together and was born.
